The CSO provides data on trips and nights based on the annual results of their Household Travel Survey (HTS) and Fáilte Ireland generates expenditure estimates based on the results of the HTS. This report follows the release of data from HTS Quarter 4 and Year 2022.
Irish residents took 13.3 million domestic trips in 2022, spending a total of €2.9 billion. They stayed an average of 3.0 nights per trip, a total 34.2 million nights. See more detail by County in this report.
